Mimi Whelan was born and raised in Savannah, GA. She attended the University of Georgia where she studied interior design at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Mimi has lived and worked in LA, Tuscany, London, Palm Beach and NYC. While Mimi has a well trained eye for Interior Design, she has the hand of an artist. Through her illustration line “Meemz”, Mimi combines her love of both art and fashion with the bold swiftness of her personality.

“If I cant buy it, I might as well draw it.”

Mimi’s process begins with sharp lines and shapes, layering in gesture, and incorporating vivid colors and patterns to complete her signature look. Drawn to abstract poses and sculptural clothing - a pair of cool shades, an elegantly angled glance - Meemz captures more than an outfit, it represents a feeling. She’s a girl, an essence that anyone can relate or aspire to.

Mimi currently lives and works in New York City as a Senior Designer with Michelle Gerson Interiors, collaborates with her sisters as a co-founder of The Whelan Girls, and always finds herself back at the canvas & sketchbook.
