About Debora Stewart
I am a Signature Member and Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America and a member of the Master's Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies. My abstract pastels have won awards from International Artist magazine, Pastel Society of America and the International Association of Pastel Societies. I am the author of Abstract Art Painting: Expressions in Mixed Media by Northlight Books and a series of videos on creating abstract art. I teach workshops throughout the United States and judge pastel competitions.
As an artist, my work is a reflection of my deep connection to nature and the beauty it holds. Through the use of soft pastels on paper and acrylic on canvas, I create expressive and energetic pieces that draw inspiration from the natural world. My process is guided by memories of color in nature and the organic lines that I observe, resulting in abstract works that are both captivating and dynamic.
