Fiore Vigilante

After a 10 year highly successful career as political science faculty member at Oxford College of Emory University, Katie retired to pursue her creative side. With her children off to college, she founded Fiore Vigilante LLC as Fiore (FEE-OR-EH) means flower in Italian (Katie was born in Italy) and her last name is Vigilante. 

She is located in Atlanta and joined a studio near her home and began experimenting with hand-painting small branches, refining the curation process. She adored branches with flowers and leaves she created using remnant fabric, canvas, vintage fabric, linen, neoprene (rubber), metal, and more. She arranged these in bespoke vessels.

In 2024, she founded the L.U.S.H. (Local, unique, sustainable, and hassle-free) hand-painted floral sculpture line in 2024 for commission, sale, and subscription. Her work has been commissioned in San Sebastian Spain, New York, and in several businesses and private homes in the Atlanta metropolitan area. You’ll find her subscriptions in Van Michael, Faced Facial Studios, Presmanes Interiors, Urban Cottage, and more.

Her floral sculptures begin with the client, vessel, and space. These core principles drive color, composition, and overall design of the floral sculpture.

She has recently begun working with Roman plaster and acrylic paint creating maximalist versions of her flowers and leaves; she has these professionally framed with museum glass to allow every detail of the petal or leaf to be completely clear to the viewer.
