Lauren Bencivengo

Lauren Bencivengo is a self-taught painter based in Encinitas, California, known for her refined acrylic still life paintings.

Born and raised in San Diego, Lauren's creative path began early and deepened through her studies in Interior Design at Miami University of Ohio. After several years as a commercial interior designer, she sought a more personal form of expression and founded her studio Carmela Designs in 2018—named in honor of her first collector and grandmother, Carmela Bencivengo.

What began as an exploration of stationery and surface pattern design evolved into a full-time painting practice. Today, her work can be found in galleries, showrooms, and private and public collections across the United States. Her paintings reflect a quiet dialogue between art and design, inviting viewers to slow down and find beauty in everyday simplicity.
