ALLISON MEYLER

I have always loved to paint. My work is about color, line, movement, shapes and the interaction and balance of all the elements. When I paint, I am in my own world, listening to loud music, usually working on a series, and on multiple paintings at once. I love to explore graphic patterns, graffiti, linework, gestural marks and unusual color combinations.

I am influenced by the places I have lived and traveled, within the US, Europe, Asia and South America. I love everything about the beach and also the chaos of a big city. Rome ismy favorite place in the world, but I will always be drawn back to my home state of Maine.

Some of my most recent series include: Faces, Figures, and Bar Art. Early on in a series, my work may start out more representational, but becomes more abstracted as I continue my process of exploration.

I currently live in Ridgefield, CT with my husband, 17 year old twins, and a Tibetan Terrier named Minnie.
