Emily Dickey

Emily Dickey is a self taught, contemporary artist living in Richmond, VA. Her paintings are built layer by layer through a process of exploration and intuition, pouring and scraping, adding and removing. The ‘At the Beach’ collection came to life via memories of summers spent up and down the east coast - from Cape Cod to the shores of Carolina. Emily remains steadfast in her commitment to experience painting as strictly joyful, a restorative act during the busy season of raising young children, and this approach is visible in the outcome of an original aesthetic which reads both playful and sophisticated. You can find her in real life always ready to dive into a good conversation, with dried paint on her clothing, and three little kids in tow needing snacks immediately.
