Designer Spotlight: Ellen Kastelberg of Ellen Kastelberg Interiors

Designer Spotlight: Ellen Kastelberg of Ellen Kastelberg Interiors

This month our Designer Spotlight features Ellen Kastelberg, a Richmond native whose beautiful interiors mix traditional components with a unique twist. Ellen gravitates towards blues and greens when decorating and admires the work of Virginian Bunny Williams as well as New Yorker Katie Ridder. Ellen believes no home is truly complete without a garden stool – preferably an elephant shaped one! Below you will find an interview with this fabulous interior designer who I am lucky enough to work with and call my friend.

Designer Spotlight & Install: Jessica Williamson for Bromley Home in Richmond, Virginia.

Designer Spotlight & Install: Jessica Williamson for Bromley Home in Richmond, Virginia.

Getting to see art make beautiful houses into wonderful homes may be the very best part of my job. I recently fell in love with a home when dropping off some artwork and asked the homeowner if she had worked with a designer. She said she worked with designer Jessica Williamson, and not only did I get to know Jessica, but I also now count her as a client, an inspiration, and a friend.

Art Sourcing for Lavin Label

Art Sourcing for Lavin Label
Being a Savannah girl, I was delighted to collaborate with Monica Lavin of Lavin Label on finding the ideal art to complement her recent bedroom redesign. Her home is a gorgeous example of my hometown’s storied style, and she was putting the finishing touches on a serene space that would be her retreat from work, parenting, and the frenetic bustle of everyday life Continue reading

The Gift of Art

The Gift of Art
Few gifts are more memorable and truly heartfelt for that special someone on your list than an original piece of art. Original artwork is one of those rare items that often gets passed down for future generations. If this year has taught us anything, it’s that we should cherish and show those we love how much they mean every day. Continue reading

As soon as I saw Raj's work I believed that it would resonate with anyone who loves the outdoors and the sea. Not only is his work gorgeous, his photographs tell a story that transport you instantly to the beach, the cliffs, the lighthouse, or wherever he points his lens. Continue reading

Artist Spotlight: Anne Bohne Curtis

Artist Spotlight: Anne Bohne Curtis
A couple of years ago I was walking through a showroom at High Point Market and noticed Anne Bohne Curtis’ artwork. First, the name Bohne rang a bell (realized went to school with her brother) and then the card said artist from Savannah, Ga (p.s. where I am from) so I knew I had to follow her career and make a connection. Furthermore, I believe this is the year she created designs for Lacefield Designs (more info below). Fast forward a couple of years, this past fall when I was decorating my daughter’s nursery, I knew I wanted some of Anne’s well known bunnies. Continue reading

I am thrilled to introduce Jana Young to the collective. Thanks to friend and artist Kerry Hays for introducing us. (This is why I love my job, never know who you will meet). Jana’s work is so unique and I absolutely love her latest series “Into The Wild.” My husband and I traveled to Africa a year and half ago, and the animals just capture your heart especially the elephants. They are so powerful and peaceful at the same time. This collection captures the amazing faces of these animals. Learn more about Jana and her inspiration behind this collection below.
